Lake Arrowhead, CA - The curtain has closed on the 2010 edition of the Lake Arrowhead Film Festival following a Filmmakers' Awards Luncheon that presented the Best of the Festival award to Director Mian Adnan Ahmad for THE HEAL.
THE HEAL, starring Ameer Zhowandzi as Azeem, tells the story of how in the midst of the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan and Pakistan, a gifted child makes an extraordinary effort for his people.
THE HEAL also won the Lake Arrowhead Rotary Club's Best Student Film Award. It was presented by Rotary President Angela Yap (The Mountain NEWS). Other movies receiving Rotary awards were IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF YELLOW WOMAN directed by Camille Manybeads Tso and PEARL directed by King Hollis.
The June Lockhart Special Achievement in Film Award was accepted by Director Andrew Chan for IVORY.
Actor Vincent Spanos presented the Best Short Film Award to Director Lorette Bayle for THE BAKE SHOP GHOST and the Best Short Documentary to HOME IS WHERE YOU FIND IT directed by Alicdes Soares.
