With the recent storms to hit Southern California CHP is requiring chains in the San Bernardino Mountains. If you are heading up to Lake Arrowhead or Big Bear here's what you should know:

HIGHWAY 18

Chains are required on all vehicles except 4- wheel drive vehicles with snow tires on all 4 wheels from the JCT of SR 138 to The San Bernardino National Forest.

HIGHWAY 38

Chains are required on all vehicles except 4- wheel drive vehicles with snow tires on all 4 wheels from the 8.6 mi east of the JCT of I 10 to Big Bear Dam.

HIGHWAY 138

Chains are required on all vehicles except 4- wheel drive vehicles with snow tires on all 4 wheels from Camp Seeley to the JCT of SR 18.

HIGHWAY 173

Chains are required on all vehicles except 4-wheel rrive vehicles with snow tires on all 4 wheels from Grass Valley Rd. to the JCT of SR 18.

HIGHWAY 189

Chains are required on all vehicles except 4- wheel drive vehicles with snow tires on all 4 wheels from the JCT of SR 18 to the JCT of SR 173.
