Take a Tour of Lake
Arrowhead
Lake Arrowhead is just 90 miles east of downtown Los
Angeles. Located in the San Bernardino Mountains and
surrounded by National Forest, Lake Arrowhead is a an elevation of
5,106 feet above sea level. The fresh mountain air and four
season climate is unmatched in Southern California.
Lake Arrowhead, today a 784 acre private lake with 14.3 miles of
shoreline, is acutally a man-made reservoir. Construction
began on the lake, originally called Little Bear Lake, in the early
part of the 20th century. By the 1920's the first Lake
Arrowhead Village was completed with a hotel, shops and
restaurants. The original village was demolished in 1979 and
replaced by the wonderful lakefront shopping center and resort area
you see today.
Recreation in the Lake Arrowhead area includes golf at the Lake
Arrowhead Country Club, hiking, fishing, mountain biking and
other outdoor activities. Enjoy Ice Skating at the world famous Ice
Castle International Training Center. In the winter the
closest ski area, Snow Valley, is less than 30 minutes away.
Numerous fine restaurants can be found in the area as well as
cozy lodges, hotels and B&B's for overnight lodging. An
