Station 98 is located in the community of Angelus Oaks at 5766 Frontage Road. It also protects the communities of Seven Oaks and Barton Flats. They provide immediate assistance to the U.S. Forest Service for forest fires in the area and also protect a large portion of Highway 38 on its way through the area and up to Big Bear. (Photo by San Bernardino County Fire.) There will also be an opportunity drawing at 11 a.m. with tickets selling for $1 each or 6 for $5. | The Boles Murders | | The Rim of the World Historical Society Museum will be having a special showing of the award winning Boles Murders on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, September 4-6, 2010.
The screenings will be at noon and 2pm on Saturday and Sunday and noon only on Monday.
The museum is located in Lake Arrowhead at 27176 Peninsula Drive and the hours on weekends are 10am to 4pm with a special opening on Labor Day Monday from 10am to 2pm.
The Boles Murders Winner 2004 Lake Arrowhead Film Festival June Lockhart Award
Polard Productions Presents A Davy Porter Picture Rated: PG13
On Saturday August 14th 1965 the Boles family was spending their first weekend in a cabin they had built in the mountain resort town of Crestline, California. That night around 8 p. m., someone came to the cabin and killed the entire family and their dog. They were found two days later by a relative who went in search of the family when they failed to return home after the weekend.
For the next several years detectives searched for the killers, following a myriad of clues and false leads. Nearly 40 years later, new information has surfaced which may lead to finally closing the case - a true mystery containing more twists and turns than could ever be imagined in an episode of CSI or Cold Case.
Follow documentary filmmaker Davey Porter as he and his crew trace the last moments of the Boles family; interview former friends, neighbors and associates; and talk with the only living person who was at the scene the moment the bodies of the four victims were discovered.
Including original home movies of the family and a detailed forensic computer reconstruction of the crime, The Boles Murders will leave viewers wondering why it has taken four decades to reach a conclusion. |

DELTA GUITAR SLINGERS The Delta Guitar Slingers, an all-star group featuring three heralded guitarists from the Blues' current generation of virtuosos. With distinct styles and a body of respected recordings documenting their various careers, the Delta Guitar Slingers bring together Lucky Peterson, Michael Burks and Sherman Robertson on the same stage. This rare appearance unites Louisiana-born Robertson with Burks (who hails from Arkansas) and Dallas-based Peterson for a set of fire and brimstone blues. GUY DAVIS Davis, an east coast singer-songwriter, steeped in the folk tradition shares the bill. Davis is known for Gospel tinged vocals and poignant original compositions. He also tips his hat to the great giants of the music, interpreting material by Leadbelly and Muddy Waters. Davis recently finished a run on Broadway in the revival of "Finian's Rainbow." He is the son of civil rights activists and actors Ozzie Davis and Ruby Dee. CAFE R&B Rounding out the day are Southern California favorites Cafe R&B. This band is led by powerful singer Roach, described by Hits Magazine as "Etta James riding a Harley out of an active volcano." Muscular guitar and dynamic vocals exemplify Chicago Blues, with a modern twist. Cafe R&B will perform a mix of originals and Blues classics. MOONRIDGE ANIMAL PARK The Moonridge Animal Park is Big Bear's wildlife animal sanctuary, rehabilitation and education center founded in 1959. The Moonridge Animal Park is distinguished as the only zoological facility in the United States located in an Alpine environment, dedicated to the preservation of its indigenous species.
